@ Zak ryals - if you think this is talentless we'd all like to hear a recording of you singing harmonies this close. It is however a very different take on the song from Dylan's. Whoever owns the copyright to Dylan's works these days has a voracious legal team checking posts on YouTube and nothing original by Bob stays on Youtube more than a few hours. So you'll have to buy it somewhere (side two of the Basement Tapes).

I love this tune, a great cover of a rare Dylan tune, I got the entire Nod to Bob album but it's lost in my files somewhere among the 2500 sings I have listed as unknowns thanks to Sony pulling the plug on their "Sonic" music service which left me hanging with no "lifetime" back up copies and with a lot of tunes that no other program can identify. Thanks for sharing, you've got a new subscriber.

This is a parody of An Ode to Billy Joe

not every song needs to be spelled out. not ever song need be 'gotten' on the first listen. songs that are too easy to 'get' usually burn out the fastest. song you have to work for... they endure.

Kind of like a mild horror ala "Ode to Billie Joe" -- a statement about complacency and denial. IMhumbleO.

It's not pointless, it's mundane but covering up a great secret that is horrifying, but life goes on. It's the surface above something that can't be talked about or revealed. It's brilliant as is the Roche sisters casual vocal cover. Just sayin'

This was written, off-hand, as a parody of Bobbie Gentry's "Ode to Billie Joe". Listen to that song and then come back to this one. I promise, you wont stop laughing. :-)
