This track is from The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles & Fripp: it's an album recorded in 1968 by Robert Fripp, Peter Giles and Michael Giles. It's a very good album, though it's not very well known (to my knowledge). i was just a kid when KC released their first album, and i instantly became a diehard fan. soon i discovered this little gem and i had to have the vinyl. i've heard that there were less than a thousand printed and i wish i still owned it. sadly it got away from me over the years, but what a collector's item that would be! i was glad to find the re-release and promptly bought the CD. i've always loved this little bit of cheerful insanity!

Some speculate that after the release of this album, Fripp's gold fish died making all of his later releases much darker. Some say he never smiled again.

Robert Fripp is smiling and it feels so weird.

Reminds me of Fracture in terms of the tone and tempo. But it has a 'Flight of the Bumblebee' feel to it aswell. Fracture's younger, mellower brother.

I'm a Crimson fan, but this is the first time I listen to this. It's amazing, I must say.

@newfuckingwave My friend knows a shitload about KC and everything and he said that both Giles-es gave drove him to a junkyard where they let Fripp go crazy and take anything. Supposedly he found a working reel-to-reel player and a bunch of other stuff and put it in his basement where it still lies today.

This piece is much more classically influenced than Fripp's later work.
