They could have kept making mostly hard-hitting music and throw a crowd-pleaser in there. Instead they turned into a wall-to-wall bore and McGrath was apparently unable to turn down a shit gig. To hell with them.I still like the first album though.

I Love metal don't get me wrong but sugar ray sounded so much better when they played their earlier music, the chilled vibe they had suited them so much better

What? You can't admit SR threw down at one time? This sound was very 90's and most bands that sounded like this had a short shelf life. Yeah, they sold out, but would you rather go back to your day job or rearrange things so you'd be set for life? I forgot the singers name, but gawd, look up sellout and his pic should be there. He was on this VH1 show about one hit wonders saying how great and how much he was into Men Without Hats! If he had an element of cool in him, he lost it there.

This is sugar ray when they were playing music they wanted to play and enjoyed! Their first album was great! They were doing awesome shows with korn, coal chamber, limp bizkit and we're just having a good time! Then they all grew vaginas over night and became modern day fucking beach boys.... Such a shame.

where is this sugar ray at today .. talk about sell out's ..this song ..damn good ....wtf ever everything else was is crap ..i believe any band as artists should've grown creatively as they got older .. but what a 180 of a change from this to thier 2nd album ... classic sell out if you ask me...

+jazenhazen With the only problem that "New Direction" was intended of making fun of the style they did on the first two albums

Never even knew sugar ray did heavier stuff like this until watching escape from la today on Netflix. =/ damn shame they couldn't at least leave a few heavy songs on their albums like staind did. But then staind finally DID come back to doing heavy stuff so maybe not.

This is when sugar ray was good and they used to hang out with korn and Deftones. Then I guess they started hanging out with beach boys and fucking backstreet boys in the future
