Thanks, now I know where Howlin' Wolf stole this from. But at least he stole from one of the best!

@YEFJJ Hmmm, I would've presumed that it's Nighthawk or Townsend that play in that understated style - also do you happen to know the personnel on the Walter Davis recordin "Ashes In My Whiskey"?

@busessuck1 "Big Bill's (Broonzy) guitar work is more sophisticated than that of Sonny Boy's previous partners, shown to good effect on the tracks Good For Nothing Blues and Sugar Mama Blues No.2 where his delicate runs and fills almost over-shadow the harmonica." (from document-records)Sonny Boy (John Lee) Williamson, vocal, harmonica. Includes: Walter Davis, piano; Yank Rachell, mandolin; Robert (Nighthawk) Lee McCoy, guitar; Speckled Red, piano; Big Bill Broonzy, guitar.
