Sue Thompson was the first to record this song for a major label. It was written by Pee Wee King and Redd Stewart who also wrote Slow Poke and Bonaparte's Retreat and Tennessee Waltz. There was a third writer about whom I know very little. Pee Wee was very popular in Louisville, KY in the early 1950s. He had his own record shop and a local TV show. Sue Thompson had a good career going in the 1950s, but no hit records on the major charts. In 1961 she was with Hickory Records. She recorded some of John D. Loudermilk's songs. Sad Movies Always Make Me Cry became a top ten pop hit. Her recording of Norman became number one. That was originally recorded by Don Everly with the title Norma. Don wrote liner notes for one of Sue's Hickory albums. Her last major pop hit was Paper Tiger in 1965, I used to play that on radio. I knew Sue and her one time husband, Hank Penny in Las Vegas in the 1970s. She was then singing popular country duets with Don Gibson on Hickory. I also knew Sue's son Greg Penny who was beginning his recording career in 1971. He became a big producer who produced recordings by k d lang and Elton John. I have watched Sue performing in person and she is an excellent entertainer.

So, this is the song they chose to conclude Bioshock's Burial at Sea with.Beautiful in every aspect. The song, and the game.

Tell the fuckers again. Only this time use your real name. And I hope "nothing against homosexuals, do not get me wrong" is just a figure of speech, otherwise it makes no sense.
