He uses a looper pedal live. What he does is before/in between songs he stacks pedals and makes weird noises and creates a short loop which he can then bring in and out as needed. Much like in the song Landmines. What he's doing in this case though I think is just doing very quick loops so it stacks the notes up over and over in a short period. Can do a similar thing with a delay pedal and a short delay time. He might be using the delay pedal for that part but it cuts off very quick
