Lyrics:

Good sense, innocence, cripplin' and kind.

Dead kings, many things I can't define.

Oh Cajun spice, sweats and blushers your mind.

Incense and peppermints, the color of thyme.

Who cares what games we choose?

Little to win, but nothing to lose.

Incense and peppermints, meaningless nouns.

Turn on, tune in, turn your eyes around.

Look at yourself, look at yourself,

Yeah, yeah.

Look at yourself, look at yourself,

Yeah, yeah,

Yeah, yeah.

Tune-a by the cockeyed world in two.

Throw your pride to one side, It's the least you can do.

Beatniks and politics, nothing is new.

A yardstick for lunatics, one point of view.

Who cares what games we choose?

Little to win, but nothing to lose.

Good sense, innocence, crippled and kind.

Dead kings and many things I can't define.

Oh Cajun spice, sweats and blushers your mind.

Incense and peppermints, the color of thyme.

Who cares what games we choose?

Little to win, but nothing to lose.

Incense, peppermints, incense, peppermints.

Sha-la-la, sha-la-la....

Being an amateur keyboard player, I've heard the rather weird but very creative and workable chord changes in this song since the ancient days on the radio. Today I finally put a vinyl copy of the song on my turntable and POW: I learned these chords. Very unusual . Great stuff, thanks for posting.

For about a year and a half, rock underwent some real innovation. It wasn't just the "and Roll" being dropped off.

Look like it was filmed in 1899. I've seen films from1901 better than this.

I think I saw them on a tv show out of california. A show somewhat like American Bandstand. It played in NYC on Sundays, at like 3 p.m. I think it was done near a beach. I'm trying to remember the name of the show and the host. It was on from '67 to '68 in NYC, on Ch. 11, I think. Can anyone help me remember the name of the tv show. They used to play "Get Off My Cloud", and Satisfaction" a lot. I think the Rolling Stones even guested on the show. Teenagers dancing.

Like I said they don't write music like this no more the 60s bands put their heart and soul in the music they wrote music the 70s they did to 60s whose real good 70s were good the 80s and started turning into a long haired Fab of loud like Motley Crue Van Halen what's funny if you would have asked me in the 80s what band would make it to mm I probably would have been saying like Van Halen but Motley Crue made it but yeah I grew up in Ann Arbor Michigan new Bob Seger real good I played in the Silver Bullet Band with them before played guitar I know how to play piano guitar drums I say guitars my favorite instrument but what I learned is I have met many bands I played with the Grassroots one time filled in for him lot of bands I filled in for but what I learn is you could always learn something new you know like if you're a guitar player for you people out there that play guitar listen to other bands and listen to their style and you'll sort of learn where you said you got to do your style and it's really cool I promote music all the way I donate to schools to keep their music programs going cuz I believe music is good for kids it's paid my bills since the seventies yeah I'm going to be at DTE with the Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan I'm going to be in Billing in with Steely Dan on guitar most people know me on stage is sick Strawberry Alarm Clock this bad that's what I like to is it shows like a drummer can be the lead singer to at school trust me I play drums to drummer has the hardest gig in the band he's the hardest worker play any song it works out saw you people are older can relate to me and even if your 40s 50s and you play an instrument put an ad in California papers and you'll be surprised you'll be called in and if you're what they're looking for your sat my first band I played it in Detroit Michigan was Salem Witchcraft in the seventies and that's how I got to get gigs but looking forward to June 25th Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan I'll be playing filling in for Steely Dan on guitar and I'll probably come out with the Doobie Brothers I've met them and played with them before leaving or not though bad that I really like playing with was it was back in like 75 it was the Grassroots it was a fun time always follow your dream if you play an instrument never give up you could be 50 and still be called into play they always need someone some band somewhere rock on everyone

Fantastic song from the golden age, lived it. Ed King is one of the guitarists in this video. He moved to Lynyrd Skynrd and wrote the famous riff from "Sweet Home Alabama".
