a lot of people say purple is their fav stp album. Weiland was already deep into drugs way before that album came out.

Anys-ways, it is better to ignore the singer of ANY rock band, and scrutinize what is going on behind them (the rhythm section is HUGE on these better-known tracks). And THAT is why STP was one of the better bands from that time and place. The Jamming DeLeo Trio is what is STP. There was an STP before Wieland, and there may be one after.

In my lil' opinion, Scott W's music writing capabilities went downhill after he got on the drugs, this album is awesome, but Interstate Love Song the latest STP song I really like, he didn't really impress me again until Velvet Revolver's "Slither"... Though "Lady Picture Show" was pretty cool.
