One of the best guitarists of all time. He makes a very interesting comment, where he puts his music first before commercial success. Meaning he would never be a sell-out. Love their music. R.I.P Stevie, you've left us an amazing legacy. I like his vest.

Note the tokotoko or Maori walking stick (also known as a rakau korero or talking stick) that Stevie has. They are traditionally carried by orators in Maori culture. Stevie spent a lot of time in New Zealand and had Kiwi connections. He was a part of the kiwi muso family and, as in other parts of the world, greatly respected.

Just before he gave it all up. I saw him in 85 flying it like a metal kite in a lightening storm. Saw him again in 88 and he was sure footed and steady but I missed the lightening bolts a bit. I got my hair cut in NZ by SRV kiwi wife's brother in 98.
