Love his voice here. Guitar really lecks some reverb. Great though, as everything by SRV.

I've heard that they re-strung the guitar and he did the song again, but I don't know how you would get that audio. I would love to hear this in its entirety...

Sadly, there is no complete version of this amazing song unplugged. I remember that night well though, and still have the 30-minute episode on VHS tape and it's in perfect condition despite the years. SRV and Joe Satriani were an unlikely pairing and as so many people were worshiping at Satriani's feet - claiming he was a "Guitar God," I was curious to see how he would fare bare bones-ed... and SRV completely obliterated poor Joe.Without his electric guitar, his whammy-bar or his effects pedals, Satriani was just an average - at best - guitarist. SRV, however, was electrifying, dynamic and totally ethereal. Satriani was quite humbled that night and sadly, SRV wouldn't live through the year. Such a great and tragic loss for us all.
