I really like this song. Face the truth was my first encounter with malkmus. I was maybe 14. It took about 8 years of listening hard to pavement to understand this. Gorgeous. I could be projecting but it sounds like he's trying to help a lot of people move on from unhealthy mentalities associated with the angry defeatist energy of Pavement (i.e. steel restraints.) That guy has serious respect for his fans :)
