Mark Spiro originally wrote this song, then called "Better With A Broken Heart". Stephen Bishop re-wrote the lyrics and it became "Kari". Mark Spiro eventually released his original demo on his 1997 album "Devotion". Mark issued 3 album releases between 1996-1999 featuring demos from his vault.

Bishop´s album " Bowling in Paris" is from 1989. "Devotion" from Spiro 1997. I thought it was in the same year, sorry. I already saw it. Thank you! Anyway don´t know why changed lyrics. Both are fantastic.

@Nightmared I would have thought Stephen Bishop's was the original? Thought Spiro's was mid 90s but of course could be wrong! AOR is amazing agreed.

This is the exact same song - with different lyrics - as Better With A Broken Heart by by Mark Spiro - it's here on Youtube - have a listen! No idea if it's on purpose or whether Stephen Bishop gave him permission to change the lyrics, but thought this song sounded familiar!
