And now, for something a little different... Stephanie Trick performed "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning" by David Mann in her program of stride and standards at the Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts at Whittier College on January 31, 2010, as Paul T. Smith's special guest.

Dear Steph: I caught your act in Sacramento at the festival last year and was very impressed, but I think I probably too quickly dismissed your ability as being narrowed down to some of the exciting, but sometimes repetitive left hand chord changes inherent in some of the boogie pieces. For whatever it's worth, however; after listening to many of your videos, (Wee Small Hours was very moving) no one could dismiss your ability and versatility in any genre. Never lose your obvious enjoyment..

This is probably like a 'rest' for her after all the stride piano! Just kidding, it's really brilliant!

The more I see and hear of this young lady the greater my wonder at her enormous talent. But then this sort of performance requires not only talent but also stamina, persistence and the will to succeed. There is no easy way to learn,is there?Absolutely delightful.

Yes pretty moody. But WOW she must have the same easiness to learn a new piece like wonderkid Adam Swanson.
