well, today, due to low budget and the need for always fast result, it's becoming easier to just mixITB (In The Box), directly inside Protools with plugins and some outboard gear. So, the Matrix could be used for the final mixdown with 32-40 Buses, which is more than enough for most of the current TV/Radio songs. That's the reason why we see more compact and small mixer/summing solutions, including the new SSL Sigma. You can have 140 tracks in your DAW and still mix them down with 32 buses.

Just guessing here, but the projects they mix most likely have more tracks than the matrix can handle. Hence the comment about not being able to mix on it. I saw another interview where she mixes on a 96 channel SSL.

my question exactly!!! Why they can't mix!!!

YoYo .Kidz

Why the fuck can't they mix on a matrix??? I mean people nowadays make/mix/master records on laptops with headphones, and they need a 10.000 $ ssl board just to produce on... Seriously...

6:44 What do they mean when they say they can't mix on the matrix? Isn't that what the matrix is for, mixing?

We don't have enough women in the music industry. Besides artists, modern music needs both male and female producers and engineers. Keep up the good work y'all.
