Arguably the most 80s video ever!

The end of this video is saying 1982. It would be interesting to know precisely what year and month this was being heard in the USA.

There are a number of global smash hits from the 80s that this song is reminiscent of. However, The Ghost in You by the Psychedelic Furs was released in 1984, True by Spandau Ballet was released in 1983, and Take On Me by Ah-Ha and Shout by Tears for Fears were released in 1985. Nova Heart, remember, came out in 1982 - two and three years (an eternity in 80s pop years) ahead of those other songs. (Tears for Fears wasn't even a band until '84.) This song was the true first wave of synth pop, one of the first shots fired. I was in high school when this song came out and it was a song that was so cool I couldn't believe the band was Canadian. And of course Sandy was so gorgeous I couldn't believe she wasn't from Malibu. For me it was not just a great song, it had cultural significance, too, because it made me feel that Canadians, when compared to the Americans and the Brits, had just become a bit less uncool. Throw in Pukka Orchestra, Strange Advance and Chalk Circle and, pound for pound, I would say we more than held our own in the synth wars. But again, this song stands out. It's classic.

Awesome song. Makes me want to go out and meet new or good people and have good experiences just like 30 years ago. I've hated almost all music of the last 20 years and cannot stand their singing voices no matter who is singing. I love this white male college music of the 1980s.

You cannot be a straight male and NOT have had a serious crush on Sandy Horne! She had that deep beauty and quality of feminine character that you don't see a lot of in today's women.

I remember this video from my younger days, I also remember being captivated by Sandy Horne's beauty not only on the outside but the beauty of her musicianship as well. Beautiful inside and outside!

Sandy was gorgeous! I remember hearing this song for the first time and it blew me away! New wave at the time had a futuristic and mysterious vibe to it, love it!

I'm not Canadian but this is fucking amazing. I like a lot of Canadian bands but "Arias And Symphonies" is worldwide one of my favorite albums.

just gorgeous! people rip the 80's for being cheesy and there's a self-consiousness to videos that can make you giggle, but soooooo creative!~!! I'd love to give up the slickness of today's production for 80's creativity. sadly, we have all this technology we could be using to create breathtaking videos but no one is...

Yeah, I really love the lyrics. I'm glad someone else has noticed them too. And of course the music still sounds great--it was ahead of its time.
