I also remember paying $10 a gram for black hash, and $3.50 for a case of 12 Molsons! My best friend had a basement apartment in St.Lambert, and he had a huge stereo system. On Saturday nights in the winter I'd pick up a case if 12 and a gram of hash, we'd put the radio needle on FM at the far left so we could pick up the CBC English station, and we'd watch the Montreal Canadiens of Guy Lafleur and Larry Robinson with the sound blasting in his speakers! Les Canadiens sont la!

I remember him! and Marie-T who was on CKOI FM late at nght. She'd play spacey progressive rock.

Serge "Would You Believe" Plaisance is the one I remember the most. He had a low raspy baritone, and he sounded really wasted a lot of the times. The tag line I remember the most was when he's start up a song with "Et vous écouter CHOM 97.7 á Montréal". Then he'd come in with this song or something by Supertramp or Genesis or Pink Floyd or King Crimson - prog was big in Montreal back then. Ahh, the good old days (sigh). ;-)

I remember back in the early 70s listening to this on CHOM-FM in Montreal. Man, those were the days. I was in my late teens and early 20s back then, and Montreal was such a happening place for young people. I was certainly glad to say "I'm Alive" back then!

Great band from the past with a lineup of great players--- the younger musicians should listen to more of this music from the era where rock and roll was born and developed---RE!!!!!AL MUSIC!!!!
