I also think that the chains represents fate.. like the red strings of fate, they say that when you are born there's already an invisible red string that connects you to your other half? i think the chains are a representation of that, it becomes something like a chain of destiny. Destiny won't permit them to be together anymore. BUT this is just my interpretation of the song. It's just amazing!

The song is about waiting for someone(obviously) but more, its also about moving on, doubt and hope. On the video the chain represents time. For some reason Yael doesnt have much left, he's letting Julia find herself and also hopes to find him. Julia is doubting herself, her feelings for him. In the video she's wandering and searching at the same time. But never knowing that her time is fading, until its too late. At the end when she knew what she wanted, its already too late. Time wont let them
