How appropriate to end a video and a band... I Walk Away. From Split Enz last release, See Ya 'Round. I've always liked this one, even if it wasn't necessarily a critics favorite, not that I always or even often agree with them.

They were really starting to sound like Crowded House on this song.

It's a great song and, as we all know, made it onto the 1st Crowded House album in a more stripped down version that I personally like better than this one.OTOH the approach to this song shows the biggest of Split Enz's strenghts: the playfulness!

With respect you miss the point, no offence but again. Not only does that not mean a thing, but you have to actually provide proof. Let me explain, Sir Winston Churchill once said "These bitches be tripping". That sentence has no article of proof, no evidence, it could be anything you or I have made up. Also if that was his answer, it sounds very much like scouse humour.

Just pointing this out: Paul McCartney was asked by Rolling Stone what it felt like to be the world's best songwriter, and he responded by saying "I don't know; ask Neil Finn". That's where the statement came from.

That was Crowded House, pulling no punches with the lines: 'the excess of fat on your American bones will cushion the impact as you sink like a stone' The references to Tammy Bakker would have touched a sore point as the Bakkers' prosperity theology, that wealth is next to godliness, suffered a scandal. Its implicit criticism of US capitalism and consumerism which seemed to be held up as virtues in themselves, was probably a bit much for most Americans to stomach. I thought it was great!

Jordan Smith and Ramada Rose - you're both talking absolute rubbish! There are no leagues in music; it's not football. Neil Finn's writing doesn't have to be 'Beatlesque' in order to be as good as Lennon and McCartney's. They are different and different people will like one or the other better or, if they have no soul, neither. I love both, tho' I love Neil just that little bit more! Each of us will have an emotional response to music, all of which are valid. So, deep breath, relax and listen...

Yes top 20 in more than 10 countries, Number 2 in uk, Over 1 million sold. His best solo album in my opinion.

Another "Paul says he likes Neil" Without any proof it ever happened. Then to back up your statement that Crowded House are the same as the Beatles, you say "Not the girl you think you are" is very Beatle-esque? Seriously that's your argument. Neil copied the beatles sound on a song and that makes him as good as the beatles? So did ELO and OASIS, are they the same as the Beatles too? Neil Finn is great, one of my favs, but a fraction of Paul McCartney.

You must have deleted the other absurd comment for this one. I am sorry but what you like musically doesn't matter to the rest of the world. To put Crowded House and The Beatles in the same league shows either a lack of education, music knowledge or just plain stupidity. "if it doesn't make ratings" what are you talking about? The Fact is crowded house couldn't even crack America so what you find in their music 300 million Americans couldn't

imnsho, music-wise it does not matter how many records are sold, but the quality of the music and the heart that went into making it. Neil has done this more often than not, and so has Paul McCartney (and The Beatles). Just because The Beatles sold more records than Crowded House, Neil Finn or any of his incarnations, doesn't mean that Neil is any less of a talented musician or songwriter. god i hate the whole, "if it doesn't make ratings, it ain't crap" mentality!
