More rare George Harrison songs; "Lonely Man" originally from Apple film"Little Malcolm and the Lonely Eunach's". From George-produced 2nd. album "Splinter", 1975. Rare and hard to find albums, but beautiful songs with George playing on, etc.

@douglasamarshall (Somehow this posting got abit mangled in the middle. Correction: George only participated on "Lonely Man", and was co-produced by he and Tom Scott, and played guitar. Little Malcolm was Harrison's first foray into film production. ) Seeing as how Tom Scott co-produced, and Billy Preston is also playing, this was likely recorded whilst George was recording 33 and 1/3, which was HIS first Dark Horse LP.

@lizmacera You're thinking of Badinger, with regard to Mal Evans producing. He produced some of their recordings for Apple, at least their first LP, Maybe Tomorrow. But Splinter was brought to George Harrison's attention thru Mal. Badinger's Pete Ham was brought in for Splinter's Apple sessions, but Apple fell apart and George took Splinter to A and M Records, where he was setting up Dark Horse Records with Herb Alpert.

@kinavian74 On Harder To Live, Splinter's second album, George only participated was co-produced by Harrison and Tom Scott, and Harrison played guitar. Little Malcolm And His Struggle Against The Eunuchs, which on "Lonely Man" was Harrison's first foray into film production. "Lonely Man" was indeed a hit in Japan, helped by the fact it was recorded in Japanese! Splinter was the first western artists to sing in Japanese. They remained quite popular in Japan for another decade.

@lizmacera This was recorded at FPSHOT that is George Harrison's studio at Friar Park. Lovely tune. Bill Elliot, by the way, was in the Elastic Oz Band and recorded a John Lennon tunes Oh God Save Us/Do The Oz for Apple Records.

@lizmacera - Thanks for your input, as it says in the notes, the track was indeed written by Mal Evans. Billy was credited on their first album, but not here. They had 5 albums in total and yes the last 2 specifically for the Japanese market in the late 70's and 80's. Many more tracks uploaded on You Tube.

I think this tune was produced by old Beatle roadie Mal Evans, for a movie called Little Malcolm and the Eunachs, and was supposed to be released on Apple, but George signed with A and M and formed Dark Horse, and this was the first band he signed. George plays guitar on this track. Billy Preston's definitly playing organ. I think it may have been recorded in Japanese also.

Great record, brings back memories of the 70's, when songwriting was still a skill and not a mechanised process. Very under-rated band, thanks for posting.
