It's funny how the "industrial" tag has expanded to mean virtually any form of electronic music... Noisy avant-garde stuff like this is what industrial started as.

20 years of hardcore techno havn't surpassed this. Extreme, hypnotic, tremendously both vitalic & dark...Brilliant

Some of the early stuff by the Spanish band Esplendor Geometrico is similar.

Haha, that's what I was referencing. That and Monte Cazazza (look him up). Does anyone know of any other Industrial bands that are even close to oldschool SPK? I can only think of Throbbing Gristle, Rozz Williams' Premature Ejaculation, and Boyd Rice's NON.

in fairness, EBM really isn't even comparable to straight-up industrial, it's a subgenre entirely of it's own that's actually rooted more in punk/NDW than anything. while bands like SPK were doing their thing, bands like DAF were pioneering EBM.

@Jak00125 Might I recommend Survival Research Laboratories to suit your tastes?

@Atraiterm For the most part, I agree with you, but in fairness, there is some really good EBM out there.
