This must be an extended 12 incher or something.Excellent stuff - parts of it do sound very 1984 - particularly the bass and it obviously belonging to the "we've got a Fairlight CMI and we're going to use it" genre of that time which included Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode and of course The Art of Noise. It all fits their industrial roots though.

SPK stands for some alterning terms: System Planning Korporation, Surgical Penis Klinik, SePpuKu or Socialistisches Patienten Kollektiv. It was one oft the most inventive industrial acts at that time. You should have seen one of their shows - smashing - This here is one of their smoother pieces.They aren't really ear- candy. And yes, Graeme Revell does film music since 1989. If you take a short look at the long list of films he composed soundtracks for (From Dusk Till Dawn; Tomb Raider; ... ... ... Riddick) you may get a light- bulb- moment.

I first heard this on my favorite weekly radio show in 198something, when I was adolescent and depressed, and it made my week! I'm surprised that apart from the sound of the plucked bass perhaps, absolutely nothing about it sounds dated.

SPK: standing for Surgical Penis Klinik. The mainman was Graeme Revell, better known now as a movie soundtrack composer. This was a moment of greatness.

still such a massive track...after 26 years...epic stuff... I remember buying the LP when it was released 1984 and play it over and over... I was 14 years old...man...brings back some good memories :-)
