i dont get it what is it about most of the people that claim that mab or any other guitarist who likes to play fast most of the time dont play with feeling or soul, playing a sequence of notes slow or making funny faces while u play does not mean u play with emotion some people just feel the music without showing it on their face or with their body language but that does not mean they dont feel what they play. as for me i dont care about the speed i like fast playing as well as slow and if u cant feel the fast playing then that means that u dont got the ear to catch whats going on its simple as this not trying to hate on someone just making my point thank you

Believe me, MAB rips just as well without a sting dampener. I remember watching his old Star Licks video, released in 1987, and being *blown away* by his technique. And that too even though I had just watched Impelliteri's "Speed Soloing" video. (P.S. I am not knocking Chris; his technique is very good too.)

Very profoundly simple wisdom, I like him. Another thing to watch is your breathing. I find that when I cock up, i disturb my breathing rhythm and I drift in attention. One way I have found is to simplify the riff and try to play it without it altering my breathing, if it does then its too complicated and I step down. If you try this you make an almost instant improvement and you can feel it.
