As far I as I can see this is entirely live (no pre record) and it shows what a fantastic singer Russell Mael is. This is a great song, although nothing dated so quickly as early 1980s rock out. The lyrics are very cynical and very clever and transcends the datedness.

Actually, In Outer Space is one of the many underrated albums Sparks released in the eighties. The production on those albums have not aged well but I could name at least thirty fantastic songs written by the Mael's during this period.
