Ace band RIP Mark .lucky to see them once in Islington London way back.For some inexplicable reason Mark and other band members came and sat in the audience to watch the other band [i forgot who they were]Luckily in retrospect [Sparklehorse were not really appreciated /known at that time ] Mark sat next to me .I distinctly remember telling him how their music was so different to what was being played and listened to at the time.I mentioned that some of the sounds and lyrics were in the Neil Young vein having the of beat timing ,feeling and depth of sound .Mark was a little out of it [in retrospect it killed him] but he told me Neil Young was right up there with his musical influences.Its tragic that bands like Sparklehorse and Blind Melon fell by the wayside before they made a bigger impression which in my mind they would have
