This song is another one we had initially struggled with finishing. Chris had originally came up with a very weird, very poppy version of this song. It was in a different key and didnt have any cool stuff in it. As usual he took it to all of us and the fights started right up. Everyone was making fun of the song, people were trying to fix it certain ways and it wasnt pretty. We called on our good friend yet again, mr. jonathon Escobar to strum the parts with our friend Clownfish on bass (who later joined that whole thieves and villains thing)... Anywho, we considered making sin city and this song part of a side project because the rest of the band originally hated the songs so much haha. Luckily for us we were able to find some middle ground and thats what i think made this record and the band, so special. The key was changed to make it sound way less lame, then everyone worked their magic. Mike Bateman wrote some vocals too which chris appreciated, rather than fought because i think it took the pressure off him a little bit ETC.. plus it was good lyrics.
This is the only song chris barker helped us with but since we thought he was going to be famous he gets like, production credit on the artwork which is funny... The producers ryan and scars really kicked ass with this song. they wanted this to be the best song on here. they called me up ranting about how it was our best song. We went through like 3 months of intense fighting and when all was said and done, here are professionals saying its like a masterpiece. We were all shocked to say the least haha. - john
