You said "I think this is the best version". It's fine to say that you prefer this one, but it's hard to take the suggestion that this is better than the original seriously. In terms of the vocal performance, production, the musicianship - it's inferior in every way. Marvin Gaye's original is a classic, and Soul Asylum's, while also quite enjoyable, is a novelty track from a 20 year-old compilation album.
