I turned some youtubers into Pain of Salvation & Paul Gilbert & Frank Zappa and Freak Kitchen Fans Nightwish is pretty well known here in Europe they are like the Mother of Symphonic Goth Metal allthough Edenbridge was also founded in 1998

Its pretty easy to tell between the real Youtubers and the wanna bes. I dont know any better source in the world for music exposure globally. I had to tell Marco Hietala a couple years ago about how bands get free and public supported/shared promotion here. He was under impression it was all piracy on YT. The only way I could expose all my 80s generation friends to Nightwish WAS TO SEND THEM YT SONG LINKS. After that, they were NW fans. Ive had to do that for people in the US. Its our only way.

Like i said Youtube is my Main source to Find new Bands & guitarists And it helps me to communicate with other Prog Metal Fans arround the world I learned so much about my Favorite Artists within the Last 4 years its Mindblowing Youtube needs to be Free in order to be what it is And thanks for the compleyment,

They are already dealing with freedom of speech/expression laws here in the US and Im one of the ones driving that. When we signed on to YT there was an AGREEMENT we all had to acknowledge as to what YT expected from us as channel holders, but ALSO what we could expect from them. When formats changed, they stole all my custom artwork & friendslist. Those were all the band/artist endorsers of my effort. Many left YT. Its good that some really good partakers like you stayed around.

Yes i agree with your comment you cant just listen to this Kind of music while washing the dishes. You need to really listen to it, to get the Full Experience. Its like The Vocalist read a Fantasy Tale to you combined with amazing Metal music Lets hope we dont have to pay extra money for youtube in the Future

Yeah I agree with that. I think its because its a thinking persons music in making it, understanding it, and enjoying it. To me these bands are like the Mozarts' & Handels' of this era. And yes YT has been the source for me too. Lets hope that the whole vevo conspiracy dont kill it. YT made an under the table deal with sony & sme to monopolize many bands work and cut the actual bands out altogether. Its piracy on the grandest scale thinkable.Check out new band: SUNCROWN.

In my oppinon The Progressive Metal Fanbase & The Symphonic Power Metal Fanbase is the Best with the Invention of youtube i found more Bands then i could EVER by buying Magazines Everything started in 1999 when i listened to Dream Theater & Sympony X & Pain of Salvation without these 3 Band i wouldnt know Angra, Edenbridge, Seventh Wonder and many more

Kinda makes you ask: NIGHTWISH....WHO? Not that I would knock NW, but after all their on & off stage NON PERFORMANCE related antics its great to find bands that keep a high & professional standard as far as what they do. NW is over rated. EB is under rated. Some would say it all evens out......NO IT DOESNT. This band simply needs to be recognized for the quality group that they are both as a band, and also as people.

It depends alot on environment and generation. I grew up in the 70s so Pink Floyd & Dark Side of the Moon was normal for me. As was KANSAS, Triumph, April Wine, & Boston. As a teen in the 80s I added on ASIA, Rush, Dokken, etc. As far as the kid at 12, he must have been around this. You dont go & find it on your own. I didnt. Lanvall from THIS BAND actually YT-mailed me to check out this band 4 years ago. I knew alot about metal & still had missed them. Its why we need to keep passing the word.

You cant exspect 10 to 13 year old to listen to this Music Taste needs to be developed over Time, I started to listen to Metal at the Age of 16 But loove it since then Sadly Pop music sells because it sells people and Faces not musical Talent :(
