Two Amazing songs from an amazing band.

The photo has pretty much nothing to do with the lyrics.

But anyways Enjoy!

Believe me:

Field of spears: Our creation

And for our crimes there be damnation

The blood of the past, it does bathe us

The fingers point to blame and claim us

And without love, we are lost

Believe me, we are lost

Without love, we are dust

Believe me, we are dust

Without love, we lose our souls

And mine had left long ago

The gods above and the gods below

Believe me, believe me

A child is skating on the ice

Like a child playing with a knife

The gods above and the gods below

Playing chess for her soul

(chorus)

With tears of sorrow, and tears of rage

They lower her into the grave

The gods above and the gods below

Playing catch with her soul

Folk isn't really a genre, it's about as useful as a reference as "indie." Folk music is hard to define because it's so sweeping, but in a nutshell it's music that is not intended for mass consumption and often has a grass-roots kind of upbringing. Ring around the rosy, for example, is a folk song which originated during the Black Plague. Pretty much every childhood song is a folk song, as is most aboriginal music. I agree, this isn't very good.

I recently heard of neofolk, and so I checked out its standing artist. I'm not impressed. :( Sucks, 'cause I was like 'Neo? Cool. Folk? Cool.' But neofolk bores me.

I would imagine Agalloch may have been influenced by Sol Invictus.
