Snark Tuner -- Snark SN 1 Guitar Tuner Review

Snark Tuners are synonymous for outstanding quality. I can't believe it took me that long to finally get one for myself. When I finally did I was really surprised by how easy the Snark SN1 was to use and how amazingly accurate it works. I'm pretty sure it won't take me long before I get my hands on the successor model the Snark SN-2, even though I'm not exactly clear on what the actual difference is. But apparently the Sn2 is an all instrument tuner.

Snark Guitar Tuners are among the best sellers in the music accessory category on amazon. And I can clearly see why. First of all, they are amazingly cheap. As a matter of fact, I actually believe that they are too cheap. Some customers might not trust this product because they may think it's just too good to be true to. How can a device that has that much to offer be that inexpensive. Right now this Snark Tuner is being sold on amazon for under $10. That truly is a bargain and you should get your hands on it as soon as you can.

As a matter of fact, there are many more models in the Snark Guitar Tuner line of products. There are models that are specific for certain types of instruments and then there are other devices which are some sort of all instrument tuners.

As shown in this Video Snark Tuner Review, the accessory comes with a few additional features that might be of interest to some guitarists. For instance, there is the integrated metronome. To be more precise, it is actually a tab metronome. Obviously you can adjust the beats per minute and a little LED in the shape of a heart makes sure that you stay in-tact, for the lack of the better term. I personally don't use the built in metronome, because I prefer audible devices. However, I can see how this feature can be very helpful, for instance in a band practicing setting.

This Snark Clip On Tuner works like a charm, as far as I'm concerned. Before I wrap this up here, one more thing. Some customers have mentioned that they have issues with the battery life. I have no issues or whatsoever as far as the battery is concerned -- as a matter of fact, I have yet to change the battery, I'm still using the original unit that was delivered along with the device.

I guess you could go for any Snark Tuner, but thus far I have only tested the Snark SN 1 and I guess you can tell, I am thrilled with this guitar product. Give it a try, I'm sure you won't regret it!

Im new to this so im a bit confused. How would i go about tuning my electric to Drop D, D Drop C, and Drop B with this? Does it just automatically know which tune im going for when i set the top string or do i need to know what the other strings need to be by heart and keep strumming till i see it?

Just thought I'd check out your review, and it was nicely done! I have been using the Snark for at least eight months now and it;s the best purchase I've ever made! If you have a 12 string you really need it, I have two. But I use it on both 6 and 12 string.

Hi, Ulrich - I have a Snark and it doesn't come on. I bought a new CR2032 3 volt battery. Still nothing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have had the Snark for over a year now. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Thanks, Bob S.

Ulrich, Thanks for reviewing this product. I just ordered the Snark based on your recommendation. I tune my acoustic a full step low, so this tuner should be very useful--can't wait till it gets here. By the way, the link you posted at guitarintenuity doesn't work for me. Any other way to sign up? Also, the price for Snark is now about $11.50, more or less.

I have absolutely no idea how this thing works but doesn't your voice disrupt it's function?

Hi, What do you think? Sn1 or Sn2. The Sn2 is better but the Sn1 is best seller.
