I DO NOT OWN THIS, NOR DO I CLAIM TO

PROPERTY OF SMASH MOUTH

Artist: Smash Mouth

Track: Fallen Horses

Album: Astro Lounge

Track Number: 11

(C) 1999

A long summers day stetching out the cold

Searching for the answers and some say I'm not alone

Could you tell me where I might find fallen horses their spirits they fly

Blinded by the whiteness staring at the sun

I'm wishing that I had wings so that I could become one

Would you help me if I wanted to die I could ride off with horses tonight

Tell me why

Why oh why

I said why

Why oh why

Now that I've arrived here I know I'm not alone

All my friends among me tell me welcome home

But could you tell me where I might find the one I'm

looking for cause her wings have arrived

[Repeat Chorus]

I love the "Astro Lounge" album. Mainly for All Star, Satellite, and this.

This is a brilliant example of a great song from a very unexpected source. Great tune, easily this band's best.

I think everyone on here basically had the same experience lol. Listened to smash's CD's "back in the day" and then last summer I found my astro lounge CD in my closet, put it in, and realized that dear god some of this stuff is incredible music. Great lyrics, great songwriting, and great production.

@chaskey10 Music tastes mature, and also some songs feel ahead of their time and it takes a while for appreciation to catch up.

@zcox795 This is one of my favorite songs of theirs too. It always reminds me of that old WB series Roswell :-)

I remembering listening to this while I would ride my bike to work or school during late June when the weather was beautiful and the rising sun hit you just right with the breeze lovingly surrounding you as you contemplate your path in life and your philosophy on the world. Totally defined those halcyon days.

Man, these lyrics really strike a chord with me. I find myself compelled to listen over and over again.

@zcox795 Me too. The best parts of this song is how well it's arranged. The fretless bass in my opinion puts this song over the top. Also it's the percussion.

@Lrdvltr probably more than any other band. some poor saps only know all star.

they took the 3 worst songs on the album, and made them their top hits, so no they sound like a washed up shitty pop band, but the rest of the album is some of the greatest shit ive ever heard

Smash Mouth were extremely underrated. They should be recognized even more. They had A LOT of under the radar hits.
