I bought this album (He Knew The Blues) when I was a student, and listened to it almost every night before I went to sleep. Wonderful stuff from start to finish. Slim Harpo's vocals and harp are beautiful throughout, and add Rudolph Richard's guitar solos (and duets, as on this track) and you have some very fine blues. My favourite is Mutual Friend. There is a lovely passage where Slim says "Play the blues, just one time!" and there follows one of the best 20 seconds of blues guitar you will ever hear.10 years ago
