Slade performing their 1988 single We won't give in on UK TV. The single failed to reach the charts.

This track can be found on the newly relased and reissued album You boyz make big noize (that will be relased in June) and as well on the Slade box

So I just heard this band called Slade? They're pretty awesome. Perfect mid-80s rock. This guy/band aren't "amazing" but they have a hook for every song. This guy is a music writing genius

Strong sympathy there Mandy. Noticed them when Look Wot U Dun was out.Been my fave band ever since, by a mile! Genuinely great songs that don't sound dated the older they get. Would love to see the great 4 back on stage together but I'd be so nervous for them after all these years. An unplugged 'Audience with Slade' TV thing would be a good. If that worked for them then a few shows in the midlands would be wonderful. Remember The Wolverhampton Fiesta? Something like that. We can but dream.

Hi bigmagic, I never knew the song was a hint at Chas Chandler. Was that ever admitted publicly?

Always happy to get a message from the Slade faithful Mandy. The album YBMBN was glorious but this wasn't my fave track, it was a bit too smooth for my liking, it knocked Chas and was not right for a Xmas release. After being in the Slade fan club and supporting them solidly to this day It wasn't right to publicly knock Chas on record even if he did 'try to shoot them down.' Anyway, still love em and do genuinely think they were the best ever. Hoping Don's biog will finally be out soon too.

Hi Mandy. Agreed, Harmony, Still The Same, The Roaring Silence, Ooh La La in L.A., Cest La Vie were all glorious, Still The Same rivals Look At Last Nite as Slade's finest ever song, indeed rock / pop's finest ever song. Regards, BM

Too sad to bear I'm afraid. This should not have been released as a single. I remember it being played on Radio 1s Round Table and Noddy saying it was a good un. Fraid I was disappointed. It got lost anyway and didn't trouble charts. Very sad indeed but the album was quite simply wonderful and was briefly my favourite Slade album back then. Glad it seems to be appreciated now though. LLTMS!!

The last days of the mighty Slade machine and watching this reminds me of how damned hard they tried to get a single that would sell, even to the point that their very credibility as a writing force has sadly suffered when casual music admirers look back. Most today don't realize that for Slade a hit record was the ONLY way to ensure them ANY bookings of concert halls, unlike today where bands can charge 40 quid having not had a hit in the thirty years since this band called it a day!Sad eh?

Another underrated but great song. A fine Slade anthem in it's own right. Shame that the single never took off, perhaps for the simple reason that the single had little promotion, particularly with the fact that RCA were no longer behind it.

BABA BOOEY

Gay Marriage Approved by New York Senate Lawmakers voted late Friday to legalize same-sex marriage, making New York the largest state where gay and lesbian couples can wed, and giving the national gay-rights movement new momentum from the state where it was born. The same-sex marriage bill was approved on a 33 to 29 vote. The Senate galleries were so packed with supporters and opponents that the fire marshals closed them off.
