Slade copied many popular hits- this is an obvious Van Halen 'Jump' rip off, 'Lock Up Your Daughters' was a rip off of Whitesnake's 'Fool For Your Loving', 'Run Run Away' was a Big Country rip off, 'My Oh My' was a rip off of Rod Stewart's 'Sailing', 'Oh La La in LA' is a rip off of 'Abracadabra' by the Steve Miller Band & 'You Boyz Make Big Noize' was a Beastie Boys rip off.Once the glam hits dried up they took to copying rock hits of the day.

I don't know what kind of idiots they're breeding in England but Van Halen's Jump was released in December 1983. Shiela in 1985.

Yeah, Quiet riot was amazing. They also had "Sign Of The Times" and "Bang Your Head"

You would have had to be there to appreciate this music. 80's was a wild ride, everyone had a different look and it did not matter! Some wore leather pants with zippers like Micheal Jackson, or Duran Duran makeup, or Madonna lace. Slade was the look of being yourself and having fun! Very unappreciated band. Plus they're Scots, Thenk ye uncoly!

Daniel in regards to your comment, i am 25 i dont really call that old! and im certainly not holding out to the memories as i was only just born! I suggest you keep your unfactual silly comments to yourself, if thats what you think fair but you dont need to broadcast it on here where people go to listen to a favourite band!. Why did you bother to look this song up if your that against Slade?!! hey Daniel are you making thousands each year after a song you created got to number 1 at christmas?!!

They are a good band, after all so many other bands have taken and redone their music. The one band that did a lot of remakes was Quiet Riot.

If you check out A Day In The Life album by The Dummies aka. Jim Lea you will find this on there and it was out in 1981, a year before Ed did the synth part of Jump, total brill track by the 1 and only SLADE
