Probably the best known song performed by the Skatalites, released in the U.K in 1967, however first recorded some years earlier in a Kingston studio. The Skatalites are an early ska band best known for their collaborations & session work with other ska artists such as Prince Buster, Laurel Aitken & Lee 'Scratch' Perry.
This tune is put to a ride to Boxhill, Surrey in April 2011 with the V.S.S.C (Virgin Soldier SC). A scooter club from SW of London, England. in memory of, a dear friend, scooterist, fellow soldier & all round top geezer, Kevin Reardan. R.I.P Kev. Gone but never forgotten.

This is a fabulous song for speed skating on ice. The beat works perfectly - it used to be played at the old Top rank Ice Rink in Brighton in the late 1960s.12 years ago
