Song 3 off of their album Bookends. LYRICS:

"Let us be lovers, we'll marry our fortunes together

I've got some real estate here in my bag"

So we bought a pack of cigarettes and Mrs. Wagner's pies

And walked off to look for America

"Kathy," I said, as we boarded a Greyhound in Pittsburgh

"Michigan seems like a dream to me now

It took me four days to hitch-hike from Saginaw

I've come to look for America"

Laughing on the bus

Playing games with the faces

She said the man in the gabardine suit was a spy

I said, "Be careful, his bow tie is really a camera"

"Toss me a cigarette, I think there's one in my raincoat"

"We smoked the last one an hour ago"

So I looked at the scenery, she read her magazine

And the moon rose over an open field

"Kathy, I'm lost," I said, thought I knew she was sleeping.

"I'm empty and aching and I don't know why"

Counting the cars on the New Jersey Turnpike

They've all come to look for America

All come to look for America

All come to look for America

I'm so pleased they were follically challenged rather than vocally!!!!

NotArt Garfunkle

All Paul Simon did was ride the coattails of Art Garfunkle, he was a talent less hack.

Nothing compares to Simon and Garfunkel. Simply amazing talent. Art Garfunkel's voice is one in a million. I'm privileged to have listen to their music. I wish in my lifetime I can see them perform together again

Saw a couple of young women do this song on Letterman the other night. They were fantastic wish I could remember their name

About a year ago, I had an obsession with S&G. Then I lost my phone on vacation, and totally forgot about them. Then at Thanksgiving, I heard this song and almost began to cry. I hadn't heard it in so long, and it had been my favorite song. Now that obsession is starting again, so I've got to thank my family members for turning on the TV, and the company for running that AD. (I think it was for a bank or something, not sure.) But this really took a dramatic turn, I'm sorry.

I lived this song. This song inspired me as a kid when my dad would play this on Sunday mornings.I always thought of what it would be like to leave home and start a life all by myself.I left home when I was 18. And I lived every day of my dream.Thank you, America.
