Silverchair - Salute to B-sides

***************English Garden***************

Here we sit in tombstones in the mud,

like it's where we want to be.

It's impossible to feel sacred in this lie,

in this aerial fantasy.

Now that the day is done I can see colours at night,

and everyone says I've been running tired,

kept my head up sunshine,

today will be fine,

and I've been trying my heart out.

Lazy ways,

claustrophobic holidays,

where we all have funny plans,

and to fade disparate

like some temporary skin,

is a feat that changes hands.

Now that the day is done I can see colours at night

and everyone says I've been running tired,

kept my head up sunshine,

today will be fine,

and I've been trying my heart out.

If this streets air ain't up to par,

I'll take my clothes, and take this strange behaviour.

Not only liked but loved as well.

If this keeps tearing me apart,

the walls come down won't stop this empty feeling,

for everything apart from this.

It's only been a year,

English garden,

and you're farther away,

it's only been a week,

dangerous mountain

suffer more than a day,

I've been climbing out the hole fish ligatures

travelling along and but I'm well,

it's only been a year

got me wondering,

for sure or for sad,

it's only been a year,

and I never called,

as soon as I escape,

for sure or for sad.

I miss the heaviness of the first 3 or 4 albums for sure, but no matter what kinda music they put out, its always obvious how great daniel johns is as a musician

Oh my goodness. Another brilliant songs. Are there anymore B side songs of Silverchair? I gotta listen to them all.

Though I like their more heavy tune more, I quite like this tune and still has a rocky sound to it just without the heavy edge.. I like this..

Wow. What a groovy song...and the very cool Judith Durham solo in the middle is what brought me here.

@mudchair16 I agree with you that they get better but I have to disagree with the songs becoming simpler. Their new stuff has far more instruments involved and are more technically involved than in their previous grunge albums. I can't imagine Silverchair topping their Diorama album but I do have great hopes for the album(s) to come.

I. Love. This!!! It's so quirky and zaney, especially the breakdown section. How did it not make the album??

Daniel Johns vocals sounded very good in this song.

Is this a homage to 'I am the Walrus'?

This track is, in my opinion, better then many of the other tracks that was chosen for the album.

I think, in the video, Daniel tripped over himself a little as he was walking at 3:33, but I still thought it was cute and sexy. It gives him character.

One of the parts I love about this video starts at 3:00 and all the way up until the end. Daniel with the face when he makes when he's in mid scream and the hand and arm gestures. The way he's working that treadmill (or whatever it is he's walking on) This entire part is sexy as hell.

i love the song, until 2:50. quite an unusual chord progression if you ask me. kinda depressing, still good though,.

If anything they have become more unique... I find it very hard to compare their new style to any other.

I believe it is Judith Durham, who first became famous in 1965 with the Seekers with I'll never find another you, which (in the UK) was the best selling 1965 single, besting even the Beatles and the Stones.
