The night this movie came out back in 72 I sat and watched it twice. Yeah, you could do it back then and not get run out of the theater. LOL This song made me a fan of Joan's forever. Very poignant, and makes you think of what might happen to this ol Earth we're screwing up. Both movie and song will bring tears to your eyes as it did to me me back then, and again right now.Does anyone know where I can buy "Silent Running" on DVD? I've looked thru the years but never found it. I need my Baez and Dewy fix.

this is a film everyone should watch, especially world leaders. Made before Star Wars and significantly more moving it remains one of the most under rated movies ever made. The prophetic tragedy is being played out as we speak on our small planet, aided by Bruce derns convincing performance and Joan Baez haunting voice. This is an important enduring film, watch it and spread the message. . . . .
