Jonathan is such a wonderful, warm, generous, and down to earth soul. Been waiting years for Shearwater to tour Australia. I had to fly over to New York just to see them play at a festival a few years ago ;)

I saw Shearwater live in Portland, Oregon last night. The performance was INCREDIBLE and afterward, I got to meet Jonathan Meiburg. He gave me a hug and signed my copy of Animal Joy. It was, without question, one of the best moments of my life.

Hmm. Shearwater as seen by Jamie Stewart of Xiu Xiu. Better than I feared, worse than I hoped. Xiu Xiu is its own thing, a VERY STRONG thing. The mixture of the sacred and obscene in it is impressive in its own right, but that aesthetic just isn't very fitting for Shearwater. They've had worse videos, for sure.
