I don't know what this song means but since I first heard this song it has haunted me. I don't know how to describe it. To me it's desperation and hopelessness, The horror of watching what you inevitably know is going to be a bad situation and not being able to do anything about it. Yearlings against harsh elements and danger. Whatever it means currently I am obsessed with this song.

I take one breath and spiral down." - This part shows lack of fear and hesitance, while at the same time mentioning a growing flood which is mentioned as being threatening someone. "And you, watching the road. Watching the flood-state rise. We are yearlings." It makes me think about the patronizing way that a parent or guardian can look in on the struggles of their children. But reversed and with a taunting notion.

@isabelayla The unsettled, restless youth. Unaware that the dangers of their fathers will one day be their very own. You're very close, the reference to "yearling" isn't horse necessarily but a young creature in general. Imo it means a frog or another amphibian.
