See Shalamar was recording songs for this album Go For It and new songs for the most successful album in the United Kingdom "Friends" cause Solar and RCA records had departed ways so Solar had become partners with Elektra,Constellation and MCA Records until 1986,Go For It was released in August of 1981 2 months after Howard's first ex-wife Rainey had given birth to their second child Rainey Daze Hewett and 6 months after Howard's late father Howard Hewett Sr. passed away on January the 20th 1981 so Howard Jr. decided to dedicate Shalamar's 5th album Go For It in his late father's memory.
