Well, This song isn't a glad one. If i'm reading into this correctly, the song's about how, when you go though life, there's always people who think they're more intelligent than you, so they think they have to tell you the lessons they learned from their mistakes. When really it's just bullshit. Most of it at least. But that would also explain the lyric, "Didn't trust a word he hissed to me." The "Snake" is general, all the people giving the advice are the "Snakes". So you just better "Run". Once again, I could be wrong.
