From the 1985 split with Overdose (Bra), "Bestial Devastation / Século XX".

Line-up:

Max "Possessed" Cavalera - Vocals/Guitar

Jairo "Tormentor" Guedz - Guitar

Paulo "Destructor" Pinto Jr. - Bass

Igor "Skullcrusher" Cavalera - Drums

Lyrics:

The curse is launched, beware

The Lord of Death declared the war

Satanas is invoked to destroy

And to command the bestial devastation

A legion of demons

Born from boundaries of death

Like a onslaught of evil

To destroy this Earth

Covering the morbid skies

Like a mist of sulphur

I can see Satanas

The cursed of death

Terminate masses and reigns

With blood axes of hate

The beasts of son of devil

Tormenting the preachers of Christ

The humans try to react

To this nuclear war

Which is like a endless pain

Burning in the fire of Hell

The vocals on the introductory track "The Curse" were performed by a friend of the band; according to Igor Cavalera:“One thing I remember is that we had one of our friends come and do the voice for the intro ('The Curse') because he would do that voice without effects he was kind of burping in a way. It was funny, so we had him come down and do it in the studio. I don't even remember his name!"

THIS right here, kids, is what sepultura is all about!!! Not Arise, Chaos A.D. or Roots, but raw primitive shit like this. Morbid Visions, Schizophrenia rule in fucking hell also!!! To each his own. if you like the newer stuff more power to you i would never rag someone for liking it because its what you like but nothing holds a candle to the old skool in my opinion. so please respect my opinion like i respect yours!!! Metal For Life.

Everything was so new and fresh back then, so much extreme bands came and went with their own style, sound and originality. That is probably why I like the 80s metal so much,it was just a great era for great music.

I shouldn't think so. It was most definitely the most exciting and fruitful decade for metal; evolution taking giant steps every year-- but "best" treads on dangerously subjective territory.

The 80s in general was the best time for metal.

I wasn't really rtalking about the name of the demo, it could be called power metal for all i care, just the fact that that band has been releasing material way before sepultura, with a similar sound to them, so i don't get how you can say sepultura's bd is the first death metal album.

Yes, we ignore an unimportant fact because a number of bands used the term death metal simultaneously in 1984, and a completely baseless opinion.
