Saw these guys at Cerritos College in the early 70"s. When they finished they invited everyone to come out on the lawn to just hang out and chat. Very cool.

What blows me away about this monster tune is that it features the vocals of Carolyn Willis, who had been in the group Honey Cone, which was an incredible girl-band from the early 70's. Since during this day and age we didn't have internet or even MTV/VH1, Willis never really received public fan-fare for her epic vocal. And I mean epic. I applaud S & C for having the guts to put her in the song as she not only nails it but put them in a class all their own with a cutting edge pairing of singer songwriters with powerhouse R&B. Crazy. And I too echo all of the incredible memories this tune resurrects.

I remember hearing this song at a JCC pool in Trenton during the summer of 1976 while first learning how to swim. The best time of my life, great memroies! I also remember hearing "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band there. I have the album this song appears on.
