And antoher great song from Saxon!!

Crowded main street, the scene was set

They check out the view, turn the radio on

Open the case, assemble the gun

Wait at the ready, for the president's run

The world was shocked that fateful day

A young man's life was blown away, away, away

In Dallas 1 p.m., 1 p.m.(*)

Red hot blow, in the back of the head

Screaming confusion, shots rip the air

Cadillac racing, cops on the run

They couldn't believe the president's shot

The shooting's done, assassins run

Is he dead, no-one will say

Around the world the news was flashed

We sat and watched your tragic history

[Repeat *]

The world was shocked

In Dallas 1 p.m.

We sat and watched

Your tragic history

The world was shocked

In Dallas 1 p.m.

This is what was once the greatness of Saxon. They put together actual songs. Never ones to rely on satanism or the occult in general they wrote about planes, assinations, aeroplanes, motorcycles, damn near anything at one point or another and made it interesting. I always considered them to be heavy metal country or folk guys for the lyrical content in alot of their tunes.

Wonderful, heartfelt song. One of the endearing things about Saxon is that they deeply respect their (and my) boyhood heroes, especially those whose lives were cut short - such as JFK, or daredevil speed pioneer Donald Campbell (the subject of "Man and Machine" from the 'Lionheart' album.)As other people have pointed out, this is NOT a 'JFK conspiracy theory' song - it's simply an honest reaction to the tragic and untimely death of a young and much-loved man.

Dear conspiracy theorists, who believe this is about "WHO" killed Kennedy. FYI! This song IS the truth, as they would have known it. It's about JFK, it's about that heavy metal sound, It's not about Oswald vs. the grassy knoll, or Martians, or chubacabras, or bananas vs. plantains, or whatever other conspiracy frightens you. Did the bullet hit the front or back of JFK's head? He's dead, debating the shooter won't change that, nor will it change anything this far in the future except some people could say "A-HAH! I told you so". I wouldn't care, I'm over it. None of the theories have ever been "PROVEN", except "to those" who "only believe what they want to believe" but it's never been proven that the bullet did NOT hit him in the back of the head, and the evidence points to the back of the head. Jackie jumped on the trunk, not ducking for cover, but to retrieve a piece of his skull. Why would she lie? I've seen compelling evidence to the shooter behind the wood fence, on the grassy knoll, but again, big deal, THIS, is a rockin' song. What is in the history books could be 100% wrong, but nothing would change. Only the shooter and those right at the car "KNOW" for sure. Saxon is a band from England playing tribute to America, and a human life in this song. They wrote the truth as it's always been taught in history books. Rather than searching out conspiracies, they were doing something with their lives, like making ME happy with their sound. I'm sure that the important part to them was the whole "death sucks" part, and they did it their way, with metal. IT"S ROCK AND ROLL!!! Take a Quaalude, relax, enjoy the Heavy Metal Thunder that is, Saxon. Better yet, scoot on over to "Conspiracy A-Go-Go". It's nothing but rock songs about "Who Killed Kennedy". Yeah.... It's real.... You'll like it over there...... Hater's can be hating; I'll be sitting here master...... elating.

if only they had known the real facts and not the myth; but if it wasn't the myth they wrote about it probably would never have been released.

Instead of it being the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, it should be the New Wave Of Best Heavy Metal, because the NWOBHM was the best!

Apparently Abraham Zapruder did a remix of this song with the verses out of sequence.
