Whenever I hear this song, it reminds me of the world in general-the bad, everything falling apart-death, ebola, natural disasters, etc.

The inspiration stems from the realization of the insignificance of the immaterial. If the inevitably of death is our common empathy, then by releasing ourselves from the superficial, we can contribute to the betterment of humanity by sharing the material world.

Not to burst YOUR bubble, but you didn't write the song, you can't say for sure what it's about. It speaks differently to each person who listens to it. For someone who is enlightened and sees more than the average human being, this song has a very deep spiritual meaning.

I'm mocking him because he's a pretentious douche. This douche was probably on a bus for some resort where he got hammered for a week and then went home. He was soooo affected that I'm sure he's done soooo much to fight poverty since then or at least he helps the poor in his own community, right? Of course he hasn't.

Showing emotions doesn't mean that you're weak. It means that you give a shit.

I believe you're misusing the term "Homo" in this argument.

I'm sorry, I was wrong. BTW it's not "your" it's you're. As in I'm sorry, you're not a homo, you're a stupid homo. But keep being preachy, I'm sure that's all you have in life.

I can, you're a homo.

A song does not need to be happy to be inspiring. The fact it is a powerful song means that it is inspiring. Just because it's not a happy inspiration does not mean it is not an inspiration. I find this song a sort of bitter sweet, painfully beautiful, a kind of happy sorrow. It's not the fire in the song that is the happy part, but the struggle against it, the proof of what we can be if we care enough. A homeless man might not be a happy sight, but the child offering him their happy meal is.

Not to burst any bubbles out there, but this song is about the inevitability of death and unimportance of material things. It is definitely a powerful, beautifully performed, and well written song... but I wouldn't say it's inspiring or happy in the least bit.
