This song is hard for me to hear. My Aunt, for years knew I was gay, she constantly threw the Bible at me as a weapon, I think of the Bible as a message of love and hate. Recently she told me to never call write or text her again, because I told her to accept me as I am. I havd bee. Hurt for weeks, she always defended me when people wronged me mistreated me, she was my sunday school teacher, she was the first person to help me understand who God and Jesus are. At this point as the song says I don't know when I can forgive hef. I know this song is about being heart broken about a man, but I use this as a way to cope with the rejection of some one who was very important to me. And she could not even tolerate that I am in love and have been for over 10 years, on the 25 legally married, my aunt broke my heart.

Most of the comments I've read are either from someone going through a similar situation or have recently gone through it. There wounds are still fresh therefore the pain being experienced from such a wound does not allow them to see the lighter side of forgiveness. With time being one of the greatest healers, the pain will begin to diminish as will their undesirable heart to forgive...

Heaven, God, the Bible, the whole shibang- its all about forgiveness. Though it is true that it is extremely hard to forgive at times-we are still called to forgive those that hurt us. Its possible to forgive and not forget.
