A hauntingly beautiful voice, perfect for this song.Too short a time in this life, fragile songbird, ancient spirit......................

The question is, who made the best recording, Sandy or Judy Collins? Judy got hold of the demo before Sandy released her original version. Sandy has the better less polished version. The two recordings rank up there with James Taylor and Joni Mitchell's version of You Can Close Your Eyes, as well as Allison Krauss' version of James Taylor's Carolina On My Mind..

To byronofcalgary - I beg to differ, the later version on 'Unhalfbricking' is THE version! Anyway, all that matters is that Sandy is singing! This is a great version too!

Plaintive, poignant, passionately quiet, evoking tears.

. . . don't forget "Reynardine" which allows the whole of her beautiful timbre through.

I know. I like her songs better than that particular Zeppelin tune. I think Zeppelin created most of their repertoire by "borrowing" from lesser known artists.

Sandy was the only female vocalist or any vocalist to sing on a Led Zeppelin track other than the band themselves - 'Battle Of Evermore'

A friend played some of her songs to me, what a great discovery! So glad I found out about her. Wow!
