One of the best English folk singers ever...and never a traitor...unlike the English stock in the Belafst ira.

jacquesbrelfan, when Eamonn De Valera died they should have played a song called Judas.

In spite of the poor quality of this early recording, that haunting voice shines through-wistful,poignant and melancholy.Sadly, thirty six years ago today that voice was lost.

It makes me want to weep how young she was taken from us. Never Forgotten.

@Ronnie Barretta...I think that "usagoodbyeisayhello" in his “Soviet” comment, probably means diktats coming from Brussels and the fact that Irish budgets have to be Okayed by Berlin etc. The 2011 Irish census revealed that 25% of babies were born to foreign born mothers. My niece is a teacher in a Dublin primary school that has 37 different nationalities. Of course, an injection of new blood is a good thing, just so long as the indigenous population doesn’t get swamped

globalisation more than multiculturalism, but I wouldn't like to say destroyed or even dying. it implies there's little left worth fighting for

So very lovely. The female voice and acoustic guitar make such a beautiful sound together. What a gift she left us with her music.

What a beautiful voice! So sad to have lost her gift to humanity. But those that burn as brightly cannot stay but a short while...

What a wonderful memory to always hold close to your heart - of sitting next to Sandy. What songs would she sing at Half Moon? Was she there with any members of Fairport in those days or would she just show up alone? I think I read she lived in the area and she would walk to the club or take the bus to this club - but not sure if that is accurate information.
