I had the single with Gone To America and Let Her Go Down on the flipside from this album of Sails of Silver and it is really splendid everytime I listen to it

This is the ballad that INTRODUCED me to this sublime group-and I have been a fan ever since...Jim Freund uses it as his sign off music on his radio show HOUR OF THE WOLF I have him to thank as well for bringing STEELEYE SPAN to my attentionALSO-THANKS FOR POSTING!!!!!

I hate the picture. That ship is so tender she's probably crank. Or in non-sailor terms, the sea is fairly calm but the ship is heeling so much that she'd capsize in heavy weather.

Ha, thanks! That particular lyric always did puzzle me, not being a nautical expert.

One of my favorites by Steeleye. One very minor quibble is that I think the lyric at 1:24 should be hollystoned-referring to the deck scrubbed with a sandstone.

Great group! You can hear elements of Tull and 10,000 Maniacs in there. I think they called this "British Folk Revival"
