On 6 and 9 August 1945 American B-29 bombers dropped two atomic bombs above the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan which virtually stopped existing then. Those two launches mark the only use of nuclear weapons against men until today.

"Little Boy" was dropped by the Enola Gay on 6th of August and detonated 580 Meters above Hiroshima, what caused the death of 90,000 to 166,000 men and deleted 80% of the city.

Tree days later the bomber Bockscar launched "Fat Man" above Nagasaki, after it was impossible at the originally planned Kokura due to bad weather. Beteewn 60,000 and 80,000 men died in Nagasaki, three quarters of the houses were destroyed in a distance of one Kilometer. The effects to the surrounding area were less, the circumjacent hills choked the detonation.

On August 15th 1945 Tennō Hirohito called out the surrender of Japan by broadcast. The official capitulation was signed on the 2nd of September, whereby Word War Two also ended in Asia. 55 to 60 million men had lost their lifes in the six years before by that war, 13 million others were victims of the holocaust, 6 million of them Jews. Never there was a conflict in history of mankind more disastrous. And I hope that will stay that way...

CAUTION!

I won't tolerate any racist, discriminatory or in any other form inappropriate comments! This song neither glorifies war, nor National Socialism, but should be considered as a historical work.

"No, we don't glorify anything, we just tell stories about things that have happened." (Rikard Sundén, Sabaton)

----------

The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were two terrible but necessary horrors the world had to face. Japan would not surrender, multiple times before the bombing the US government begged the Japanese empire to surrender but they wouldn't, their national pride would not allow surrender if there was still men to fight and land to fight upon. The Americans had two choices, a full scale invasion that would kill hundreds of thousands of Americans and Japanese, or to force Japan's surrender with nuclear weapons. Not to mention, the Russians were planning an invasion of Northern Japan while the Americans would invade from the south. The result would be a divided japan similar to Korea and possibly world war 3 once the Americans and Russians met half way. Japan payed a heavy price for the world, but it could have been much worse. America had dozens of nuclear strikes planned all over Japan, each within a week of the other. After the first bomb went off, Japan still wouldn't surrender, so Nagasaki was bombed. After the second bomb was dropped, the Japanese government realized America's plan and surrendered, unintentionally saving the entire world from a nuclear holocaust.

I think it would have been ironic (if not, offensive) had the back ground image been Godzilla.

"War is cruelty the crueler it is, the sooner it will be over." General William Tecumseh Sherman.Despite the obvious tragedy of the very nature of war there is still the fact that in war someone must make a decision that kills people. There is no war without casualties.

The worst thing about this incident is was a necessary evil in order to prevent more people from dieing from an invasion thus they showed the potential that nukes posses and now in every war between 2 nuclear powers people will fear a nuke falling on their heads any second. Truly a tragedy how little we learn from our past and mistakes.

Funny how these lyrics put all the responsability on the japanese government. I mean, who decided to nuke those civil towns in the first place?

A quarter-million people died, MAX. How the fuck are people saying that's just as bad, if not worse, then the holocaust itself, which caused the death of literally 44 times as many people? And the people who actually admit that the holocaust was worse STILL say the bombings were the second worst thing that's ever happened? Get fucking real. Here's a short list of a *few* things worse then the bombings.Armenian Genocide - 1.5 Million deadTrans-Atlantic Slave Trade - 15 Million dead(And no, it wasn't just the United States...)European Colonization - 100 Million dead(And don't blame that on America either, almost all those guys were immigrants.)Genghis Khan, Just Existing - 60 Million deadSo yeah, the Nukes killed a lot of people for such an isolated incident, but calling it one of the greatest tragedies in human history is just fucking ridiculous.
